Family leaves their house due to sewerage
The Mabesele family were recently forced to leave their house after several attempts to get help to stop the sewage that is all over the house and their yard in France Ext 2, behind Boipatong Police Station.
BOIPATONG.- Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mapule Mabesele (47) said they are staying with their relatives because they can’t stay in the house due to sewage. She told Sedibeng Ster that they reported this to the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) but with no success adding that it has been two weeks now that they have reported this matter to the relevant people including their ward councillor.
“Myself and my children had to leave the house because there is no way we can live in the house that is full of sewage. My other child is busy with exams at school and can’t even concentrate because of this situation. As we speak, now I’m stay at my parents’ house while we are awaiting assistance from the municipality even though we don’t know when they will come to fix this. We have done everything even calling Metsi-A-Lekoa but with no success. There is no way a human being can live in this condition that we find ourselves in and to make it worse, there is no electricity in this cold weather and now the sewerage. We decided to call Sedibeng Ster newspaper because this is our last hope because I have done everything but still no one came to assist us,” she said.
