Visit B&R Hardware at the corner of Blackwood and General Hertzog Roads, Three Rivers.
Most of the older people may remember Gert Oosthuizen Hardware in Bashee Street. It later became Pietria for a few years and in 2006 B & R Hardware opened its doors.
As an electrical contractor, it was a dream of Piet Rossouw to open a hardware store. Piet and Martie Rossouw worked very hard to make a success of the business
Their daughter, Adéle Brits, also joined the business in 2009.
It is not always easy to compete with other hardware retailers and they are not part of any group, but they try by excelling in customer service. They have friendly, dedicated staff, all familiar faces. Piet’s main concern has always been service and stock availability.
The opportunity knocked on their door to move to bigger and better premises.
Due to covid-19 and lockdown they had to postpone their plans for moving but managed to open their doors on 15 July 2020 at the corner of Blackwood and General Hertzog Roads, Three Rivers. B & R Hardware has their own separate parking and entrance as they are operating independently from Fourways. Piet was very proud of the new store and soon they were also selling bricks, sand and stone. They are open 7 days a week and customers can follow them on Facebook.
Unfortunately Piet passed away on 23 July 2021, after only being in the new store for one year.
His death was very sudden and a devastating blow to his wife and daughter. Even though their hearts are broken, they decided to continue running the business on their own to keep Piet’s dream alive. “We have very big shoes to fill, as everybody who knew Piet, knows. We trust that we will be able to carry on with his legacy with the ongoing support of our loyal customers” Martie says.
Adéle wants to invite everyone to take some time and walk through the store to see what they have to offer. “My father always said that we are a family store and that is how we want you to feel when visiting our store”
