Police arrest suspects for drugs worth over R80 000
Police are fighting the war against drugs in Sedibeng.
SEDIBENG.- The effective policing and community partnership led to the arrest of four male suspects for possession of drugs and possession of illicit cigarettes in Evaton North on Friday.
It is said that through community partnership with the police and information provided by the community led police to an Evaton North informal settlement where drugs and illicit cigarettes where being sold to the local communities.
“Upon arrival of the Police to the identified the different households, Police found four men at different houses in Evaton North members searched them including the shack. A 42-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R25 000,” the police said.
Police said that furthermore a 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs valued at R3 000, a third suspect aged 32-year-old was also arrested for possession of drugs valued R52 000 whilst the fourth suspect was arrested for possession of illicit cigarettes.
The total estimated amount of drugs found is +- R80 000.
The arrested suspects will appear in the Sebokeng Magistrate Court soon.
