Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, is defending the controversial multi-million rand flag project and South Africans are not feeling it.
The flag will stand at the Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum.
Speaking to eNCA’s JJ Tabane on Tuesday night, the minister said the project is part of his department’s mandate to foster social cohesion.
Mthethwa is facing a growing backlash from South Africans calling for his head on Twitter.

Boggles the mind that even after initial report of shock at his R22million flag project was reported, Min Nathi Mthethwa still felt it “prudent” to go on tv and try to defend the expenditure.
