‘Each one Teach one’ needs help from members of the community

‘Each one Teach one’ is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) after school programme assisting leaners from grade 1 to 12 with homework, assignments and extra classes focusing on English and Mathematics.

SEBOKENG. – Currently, the the NPO operates from a four roomed house in Zone 14 Sebokeng. The NPO was founded by Lincon Radebe (40) who saw a need for such a programme in townships.

“I saw that a lot of children were struggling with their homework. A lot of parents get home late and have so much to do including helping their kids with homework. With our service, parents get to find their kids already done with all their school work.

“The aim is to keep children away from the streets and negative things by shifting their focus to school work.”

Nthabiseng Mokebe (29) says, “We also offer Saturday classes and get to focus on all subjects the child struggles with.”

The NPO has however had to overcome many challenges in order to keep operating.

“We have not had electricity in months and now that winter is here, we need to make a plan to keep the kids warm. We also need equipment such as computers and printers so that we are able to research assignments and print right here where we work.”

“We have over 30 children we are assisting and the numbers are growing. Soon we are going to need a bigger place.”

32-year-old Mpho Ramokhali says, “We are also in need of stationery and additional resources.”

“We want to grow as a school because we have seen how much potential we have in the excellent marks of children that attend here. We ask that companies and members of the community in a position to help us to please do so.”
