Woman raped and robbed at her home in Boipatong

Police Spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that cases of housebreaking and rape are increasing in Boipatong. 

BOIPATONG. – Police Spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that cases of housebreaking and rape are increasing in Boipatong.

This is after a woman was raped and subsequently robbed at her residence last night at around 23:00.

Maxambela says, “The victim reports that she was sleeping in her bedroom when an unknown African male removed her blankets, pointed his firearm at her and ordered her to be quiet. He subsequently undressed and raped her.”

The suspect seized a cellphone worth R6 000 before fleeing from the scene.

Maxambela states that the suspect gained entry to the house through a kichen window.

“Boipatong police plead with the community to look out for each other. Always lock your doors and close your windows tightly. Security should be prioritised and community is advised to put burglar bars on windows and doors.”

Police are investigating a case of house breaking and rape.
