VEREENIGING. – The De Deur SAPS recently visited the Rus-Ter-Vaal High School to ensure a safe learning and teaching environment.
The visit was organised by the Social Crime Prevention Co-ordinator Warrant Tshegofatso Maliehe, together with various law enforcement agencies and stakeholders.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsele says members conducted a search at the school and concluded that there were no drugs or dangerous weapons in the possession of learners.
“During the visit, two pocket knives were seized by police. The team also addressed learners about the importance of discipline.
“Learners were given numbers to call in case of various situations they may come across, including those of the SAPS.”
Letsele urges parents to play the critical role of instilling discipline in their children so that they can help make the learning environment a conducive one.
