ELFA Super League sizzles

Despite their 3-0 defeat to Nale Academy over the weekend, JJ Sporting FC is second on the log.

SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League is getting interesting in the Vanderbijlpark Stream.

As things stand VUT FC is at the summit of the log, however, the club will not participate in the promotional play-offs because according to SAFA rules if a club has a team in the upper leagues with the same name, that club won’t be promoted or participate in the promotional play-offs of a lower league.

The teams that are hot favourites to compete in the promotional play-offs if their recent performance is anything to go are Atlentico FC, JJ Sporting FC, Two Touch FC and Nale Academy. These teams are separated by one, two, three and four points respectively and to make it interesting they are still going to play against each other. However, for now JJ Sporting FC looks certain to compete in the promotional play-offs if they hang on to their second spot on the log. Despite their 3-0 defeat to Nale Academy over the weekend, JJ Sporting FC is second on the log with 30 points with Atletico third on the log with 28 points, while Nale Academy and Two Touch FC are fourth and fifth on the log standings with 25 points each.

Meanwhile, Atlentico FC beat TK Rangers FC 4-0 in another Super League match played at Bophelong Stadium over the weekend while Two Touch FC received three points on a silver platter against Sebokeng Ajax FC. It is said that Sebokeng Ajax FC has withdrawn from participating in the ELFA Super League.
