Gushadee Development tournament comes to an end

"Since the tournament started, I have witnessed exceptional talent and I wish PSL academies can attend this tournament to scout for talent."

BOPHELONG.- The Gushadee Development Tournament will come to an end at the dusty Powerline grounds in Bophelong on Sunday.

This u/15 and u/17 tournament started two weeks ago on a point system and this weekend it will reach the end with the finals. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the tournament coordinator, Lehlohonolo ‘Zuma’ Masharole over the weekend. Masharole said the tournament will play over two days with the semi-finals scheduled for Saturday and the finals on Sunday.

The tournament is sponsored by businesswoman, Mantombi Gusha aiming to plough back to the less fortunate community. Gusha told Sedibeng Ster Sport that her heart is close to the community to make a difference to the lives of youngsters. She believes that not enough has been done to take care of those who are less fortunate in the community especially young people.

“I’m very attached to the community, and I don’t want to see a black child suffering and I will do everything to go out of my way to help. Since the tournament started, I have witnessed exceptional talent and I wish PSL academies can attend this tournament to scout for talent. What these youngsters need is somebody who can spot their talent. I have seen future Bafana Bafana stars here since the tournament started with these boys expresseing their God given talent in the field of play. I intend to make this tournament an annual event and make it big. I really want to thank the teams, coaches and managers for supporting this initiative for the sake of the development of these youngsters,” said Gusha.

The winner will receive soccer kits, soccer balls and medals for their efforts. The teams that participate in this tournament are from Bophelong and Movhango.
