Four arrested for trespassing Vanderbijlpark house

The police have secured a conviction of  four suspects who were arrested for trespassing in one of the houses in Vanderbijlpark.

According to Vanderbijlpark police spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale, it was alleged that the suspects were seen a night before by the neighbourhood pushing a prima.

When the owner was notified, he came the following day and find out that his house was broken into.  

“The complainant stayed till late as he feared that the suspects will come back, only to find out that it will come true.  Police were notified and suspects were arrested for trespassing.”

The suspects – Mr. Pretorius 30 years was sentenced 12 months in prison or a fine of R5000, Mr. Botha 47 years of age was sentenced 2 years in prison or a fine of R6000, Mr. Jakobus 25 years of age was sentenced 8 months in prison or a fine of R3000 and Mr. Conradie 28 years of age was sentenced for 12 months in Prison or a fine of R5000.

Makhale said: “This sends a message to the people that they must not underestimate the seriousness of trespassing as this shows that our courts have realised that these people who trespass and not respect people property must face the long arm of the law. “

Vanderbijlpark Station Commander Brigadier Nikiwe Hoaeane applauded Detective Sergeant Tshidi Mokele for her dedication and ensuring that the suspects were brought to book.
