Midvaal Local Municipality takes service delivery to Ward 5

“We must show the community that Midvaal is alive. Service delivery is alive. We don't just talk, we implement.”

MIDVAAL. – Addressing workers of the Midvaal Local Municipality ahead of a service delivery campaign in Ward 5, executive mayor Peter Teixeira, said: “It is very important that the community starts experiencing and feeling and also seeing the clean audits that we get every year.”

“There is no point in getting a clean audit, but the community cannot see it on the ground. I think with this program it is what we are trying to achieve as a municipality. We want each and every resident of Midvaal to experience and see, feel and touch this clean audit that we always brag about in the media,” Teixeira said.

After addressing workers Teixeira and a team from the Midvaal Local Municipality travelled to the suburb of Ohenimuri in Walkerville where they embarked in a clean-up campaign at a park.

Adding to Teixeira’s words, Gerhard Viljoen, Midvaal’s MMC for engineering services said:

“It is a privilege to be part of Midvaal.” “Everyone wants to live in Midvaal. Here the potholes get fixed. We have power. We have running water and sewerage is not streaming down the streets,” Viljoen added.

Viljoen assured residents of Ward 5 that by the end of the day they would see a difference.

“We are here to work for our people of Ward 5 and the whole of Midvaal,” Teixeira concluded.
