Midvaal Mayor thanks staff for clean audit

Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) Executive Mayor Peter Teixeira has personally thanked MLM staff after receiving the news of the eighth consecutive clean audit from the Auditor General Tsakani Maluleke.

MIDVAAL. –  Teixera together with MMC for Corporate Services Chante Gomes handed out flowers to staff as a token of their appreciation for the dedication and hard work. Teixeira says, “I found it important to personally thank the staff of Midvaal Local Municipality for our 8th consecutive clean audit. Without your hard work and dedication this would not have been possible.”

A clean audit refers to a financially unqualified opinion by the Auditor General, indicating that each of the financial records provided by the municipality have no material findings or misrepresentations, and are in accordance with the law and regulations relating to spending on public funds.

MLM Spokesperson Simon Ratlhagane says, “Most importantantly, a clean audit is symbolic of a continued commitment to render service effectively, efficiently and timeously to the residence of Midvaal. MLM remains the best performing municipality in Gauteng province and continues to receive countless awards on clean governance and the most sustainable municipality.”

Teixeira states that they are humbled by the AG’s announcement. “Ours is to pursue service excellence and ensure we prioritise the community of Midvaal.” Teixeira further thanked the staff for their commitment towards ensuring good governance and maintaining the sustainability of the municipality.

“The AG report serves as a reminder that our mandate is to diligently and pro-actively serve the people of Midvaal.”
