VUT continues with their fine form

"What I like most is that it is not only about me but about teamwork with everyone working hard at training."

EVATON.- VUT FC, otherwise known as “The Army” continued with their impressive performance when they beat the newly promoted Mighty Blues FC 3-1 in the Safa Sedibeng SAB League match at Qedilizwe Secondary School in Evaton over the weekend.

VUT FC have started the season like house on fire and this was their second win of the season as they look set to be crowned the league champions in Stream A if their current performance is anything to go by. Last season VUT FC finished second on the log behind Real Hearts FC in their stream but this season it seems as if they mean business. To make things interesting, the hard-working Mvula “Sebapadi” Tshabalala who was VUT Sasol Womens’ League Ladies team coach last season is in charge of the senior men’s team.

Without any doubt, Tshabalala’s team has won these two games convincingly. This makes VUT FC favorites to be crowned Stream A champions come the end of the season. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Tshabalala said it is still early days to make a prediction, however, he said they will treat each and every game as it comes. He believes that this is the best start they wanted to start the season with, for the confidence of the players.

“I really want to thank the VUT management for the faith they have in me to be in charge of the institution’s football club. This is a huge responsibility and I am up to the task, I won’t disappoint them. What I like most is that it is not only about me but about teamwork with everyone working hard at training. We share the same vision and I have no doubt that we will reach our objective at the end of the season. We have exciting young players who are eager to make a name for themselves and work very hard at training with the support of the senior players,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
