There is a big pothole on the R59 just after the Vaal River towards Meyerton. We lost our fellow trucker there recently after he hit that pothole and lost control over his truck. The company that lost their driver because of that pothole is based in Cape Town.
Last week Wednesday I also hit the same pothole, but luckily, I managed to control the truck, but the damage was significant. I didn’t manage to take photos of the pothole because it was too dark. I hope residents of the area and SA Long Distance Truckers (SALT) can raise an alarm on behalf of all truck drivers so that the local council can do something about it.
