Stolen school furniture discovered at a scrap yard in Evaton

During the operation, the team conducted searches and were able to recover stolen school furniture  in form of tables and chairs at a scrap yard in Evaton.

EVATON.- The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko this morning lead Operation ‘Buyisa impahla yeskolo’ aimed at the recovery of stolen school furniture in Evaton.

The operation was carried out by Sedibeng SAPS in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies as well as patrollers.

During the operation, the team conducted searches and were able to recover stolen school furniture  in form of tables and chairs at a scrapyard in Evaton.

The Department of Community Safety warned that the stealing of School furniture is a punishable offence.

“Stolen goods from Sedibeng schools are being recovered. SAPS and various law enforcement agencies as well as the patroller movement are undertaking searches to recover stolen goods from schools.

“Members of the community are encouraged to anonymously report those suspected of looting by calling the crime stop number 086 00 10111 or report to the nearest police station.”
