Football action galore to kick start 2022
As always, the Boipatong people, young and old came in numbers to watch these entertaining games.
SEDIBENG.- It was action galore all over Sedibeng with the Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League teams battling for three points at various venues over the weekend.
These were the first games of the year and despite the chilly and rainy weather local soccer fans came in numbers to watch their respective teams especially at the Boipatong Stadium. For two days (Saturday and Sunday) it was action galore. As always, the Boipatong people, young and old came in numbers to watch these entertaining games. Despite the conditions of the field the youngsters showcase their talent much to the appreciation of the soccer fans. ELFA Chairman, Jabu Mgcina and ELFA Competitions Convener, Oupa Tladinyane were in attendance. Emfuleni Local Municipality’s (ELM) Sports and Recreation Acting Manager, Star Hlongwane was also in attendance.
Apart from action galore, it was also goals’ galore in a game between Vaal Idea and VUT Development FC which ended up in 3-2 with Ideas FC walking away with three points. It was goal after goal with some comedy of error from goalkeepers. It was end-to-end staff with Vaal Ideas FC looking dangerous and always on attack, forcing VUT Dev FC to defend with their backs against the wall. This game was the highlight of the games and local soccer fans were entertained.
