Pooe  Festive Tournament put food of the table for many

"It is not easy selling at ground because some people make fun of us but we don't care. At the end of the day our families go to bed with their stomachs full."

EVATON.- Apart from attractive football being played, the recently finished Pooe Football Festive Tournament put food on the table for many with men and women, young and old, selling all kinds of foods and refreshments to provide for their families.


Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the men and women vendors said that every December they manage to survive with the money they make at the tournament. They told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they are not employed permanently but that during the festive they can provide for their families with the money they make during the tournament.


“We are not working and we survive by selling peanuts, cigarettes, boiled eggs and other things, and the only time we make lot of money is at this time of the year because of the tounament. It is not easy selling at ground because some people make fun of us but we don’t care. At the end of the day our families go to bed with their stomachs full.”
