SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has announced that there will be power interruptions in the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark areas, these will affect areas such as Leeuhof, Vereeniging Extension 2, Three Rivers and SW1 and 2 in Vanderbijlpark.
*VEREENIGING EXTENSION 2 – Outage at Vereeniging Extension 2 due to a cable fault. A team will be dispatched on Tuesday, 04 January to work on restoration efforts. No ETR can be shared at this stage.
*THREE RIVERS AND LEEUHOF – Power outages currently affecting Three Rivers and Leeuhof consumers due to cable faults. Repairs came to an abrupt stop in both areasyesterday (Monday) owing to a burst water mains which led to water ingress in cable trenches. The water team has been alerted to contain the pipe leaks. Cable repairs will resume soon after. No ETR can be shared at this stage.
*SW 1 AND SW 2 – Power outages currently affecting SW 1 and SW 2 Areas. This is due to a fault at a mini-substation in Rikie Postma Street. While effecting repairs earlier yesterday (Monday), technicians were attacked by a swarm of bees nesting in the mini-sub. For health and safety reasons, repairs were halted and will resume as soon as the bees are removed. No ETR can be shared at this stage.
The ELM appealled for patience while technicians work on efforts to restore power supply in all affected areas.
