Three men aged between 35 and 31 were arrested in Zamdela for stock theft.
It is alleged that on Wednesday, 23 December 2021, the police received information about a truck driving towards Vanderbijlpark transporting cattle stolen in Phuthaditjhaba.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani said the members followed up on the information and a truck matching the description was spotted on the R57 direction from Heilbron towards Zamdela.
“They stopped the truck and there were three male occupants in the truck, and when interviewed they could not provide the police with a satisfactory answer or documentation on why they had the cattle with them.”
The suspects still remain in custody and will appear before Sasolburg magistrate court soon.”
