SEBOKENG.- Lerato Maseko, the talented artist commonly known as ‘ Lerato, Rhandzo’, has just released a single titled ‘Hosanna’.
Rhandzo was born and raised in Soweto, and in the early 90’s her family relocated to Vaal. She fell in love with music in primary school and participated in choral music in high school, and ever since, she’s never looked back. She told Sedibeng Ster that moving from Grace Bible Church in Soweto to Vaal opened so many doors for her as an artist.
“After accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour in 1996, I joined a local gospel choir called Vaal Sound Chorus in 1997, where I was mentored by Neyi Zimu.”
Rhandzo continued to grow as an artist when she joined a youth movement called Heavenly Youth Christian Movement, where she said that she understood the ministry of worshipping God in Spirit and in truth and understanding what is called ‘military worship’. She has also been fortunate to serve at Koinonia Bible Church in Sebokeng as a worship team member for 23 years, she is still serving. Rhandzo has worked with artists such as the late Israel Mosehla, Soweto Spiritual Singers, Donnie Mcklukin, Laurren Hill, KB Motsilanyane and William Sejake, just to name a few.
“God has always been the centre of my universe.”
She believes God’s timing is perfect, which is why she decided to go solo. Hosanna is inspired by the book of Revelations in the Bible.
