Armed robbers target courier services

"The driver jumped out and ran away."

SEBOKENG.- The police have issued a warning to courier services operators to be vigilant at all times when transporting goods in the Sedibeng area following a robbery that happened in Moshoeshoe Street in Sebokeng last week.

Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said that at about 11:00 in the morning a courier vehicle was transporting goods when the driver was approached by three unknown man  who robbed him.

” The driver of Skynet company was transporting goods with a Nissan Np200 when three males, two armed with pistols, stopped him and opened both doors of the vehicle. The driver jumped out and ran away. They opened the canopy and took out goods to the value of R50 000. Police warn the courier company to be always vigilant at all times when transporting goods.”

A case of armed robbery is being investigated.
