Joint Scrap-Metal Dealers Operation conducted in Evaton

"Fines were issued to the value of R 3 000."

EVATON.-  The Evaton SAPS conducted a Scrap-Metal Operation within Evaton policing area yesterday morning.

The team, made up of the Secondhand Goods, Liquor and Communications visited scrap-metal dealers checking the compliance with the Secondhand Goods Act and to detect if they are not receiving illegal items that they are not supposed to be received and sold.

Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that during the visit fines were issued to the value of R 3 000.

” Those were for not complying with the regulations of scrap. The Station Commander was very pleased and comfortable with the successive achievement by the joint efforts in reduction of theft of cables.”
