Evaton West Ext 1 community clean their environment

“We will clean until we get it right because this is where we live, and we must make sure that the area remains in good condition."

EVATON.- The Evaton West Ext 1 community took a positive initiative towards their environment when they cleaned their area in Ward 24 recently. Amos “Roy” Stokkie was the man behind this initiative when he brought the Ward 24 community together and they started cleaning their area on Monday morning.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Stokkie said that the community has had enough of the dirty conditions in their area, in particular the dump sites scattered throughout the Evaton West Ext 1 area. He told Sedibeng Ster that they could not stand the terrible conditions any longer and took an initiative to clean the area.

“We will clean until we get it right because this is where we live, and we must make sure that the area remains in good condition. I decided to lead in front to clean our community because the area was filled with dumping places. I really appreciate the positive support I received from the community who came to join hands to make sure our area is clean. We can’t wait for the government or the municipality to come and clean our area because it has been a while since our area is like this. We can’t live in this kind of condition taking into consideration that there are children who play all over the place. We want to appeal to the Evaton West Ext 1 community to join this campaign. It is all our responsibility to ensure that we live in a clean environment. There are plastics all over the place and the bad smell of dead dogs and this is not good for our health, and something must be done about this situation. I told myself that enough is enough when I asked the community to join hands to clean our area,” said Stokkie.
