Claims of favoritism in food parcels distributed to needy communities

The food parcels did not come out easy as most of the residents claimed they were not informed and wanted to disrupt the distribution.

SEBOKENG. – The Buyisa Ubuntu Sedibeng Food Bank distributed to about 170 residents of Ward 33 led by Councillor Ntobeka Mcasa today, 4 October. Mcasa said that today only they distributed 170 to the registered for food. He said the distribution that started and was disrupted at Ntaba-Nkulu School six months back, had to continue today. This time the distribution were conducted at the Sebokeng Youth Centre. The food parcels did not come out easy as most of the residents claimed they were not informed and wanted to disrupt the distribution. The disgruntled and hungry residents from part of Kanana section near Zone 12 told Sedibeng Ster that the food is distributed under a cloud of favoritism. The South African Police Service (SAPS) members were called to the scene to calm down those who wanted to grab the food parcels by force.
