Waya Waya FC and Athlentico FC case referred to national office?

“We don’t have the team sheet of the charged club and how are we going to determine this case if there is no team sheet?"

SEBOKENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Vanderbijlpark Stream is far from over with Waya Waya FC and Athlentico FC involved in a disciplinary dispute over a protest.

This follows after Waya Waya FC lodged a protest against Athlentico FC for allegedly fielding defaulters in their second-round league match.
For the past three weeks the Disciplinary Committee (DC) has been postponing this matter to gather more information from both parties. Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that this matter could end up at national offices, the same as the much-publicised Phekwa Stars FC matter which saw some of ELFA members banned from football.

As things stand, the Vanderbijlpark Stream winner is still to be decided depending on the outcome of the DC which is chaired by Philip Ndlovu.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Ndlovu said that they wrote a letter to ELFA Executive Committee to recuse themselves from this case. Ndlovu said that they could have been done with this case a long time, but their biggest challenge is the team-sheets for that game. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the referee who officiated this game is yet to submit the team sheets of this game.

“We don’t have the team sheet of the charged club and how are we going to determine this case if there is no team sheet? I’m busy writing a letter to the executive committee to highlight some of the things because we don’t want to compromise ourselves. We have our professions to protect before we are being compromised. This matter must be referred to another level to avoid conflict of interest,” he said.

Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that just like Phekwa Stars’ case, this matter could end up at Safa National offices if something drastically is not done to save the situation.
