VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Zimele Community Movement took to the streets to hand over their memorandum of grievance to the acting Emfuleni Local Municipality Municipal (ELM) Manager (MM), Thabo Ndlovu in Vanderbijlpark today.
Much to their surprise they were met with entourage of the police and the security guards with all gates locked. They were told that the ELM Executive Mayor Gift Moerane and Speaker of the Council Maipato Tsokolibane were both not feeling well.
The groups’ representative, Lehlohonolo Moepadira said that Tsokolibane was reported to be ill. The mayor seems also to be in bed. However, the went further to collect the Municipal Manager Thabo Ndlovu,” said Moepadira.
The marchers demanded that they want all debt to be cancelled instead of a cut off of 50%.
They further demanded a response within seven days , failing which they have threatened a massive protest.
