We must give credit where it is due!

"Whatever we smoke, eat and drink as a “region” should never cloud other coaches’ “success”."

For all these years Sedibeng has produced players for those PLS clubs since the days of Simon “Bull” Lehoko and many others. No doubt, this region is a feeder of South African football in terms of players, referees and administrators.

This is since the days of George Thabe, may his soul rest in peace! Recently, this region has produced some of the exciting talent promoted to the Dstv Premier Soccer League. TOUCHLINE compliments the development coaches who contributed to the development of those players before they were seen by the big clubs. This is despite the lack of resources but  they managed to develop these youngsters. Again, for all these years, yours truly TOUCHLINE, has been writing about these youngsters even before they played in top flight football or made headlines on mainstream newspapers.  For example, players such as Thabo Rakhale, Aaron Mokoena, Solomon Mathe, Papi Zothwane, Abia Nale, Lungisani Ndhlela and Lucky Mhlathi to mention but few have graced local newspapers back pages long before they played in the topflight football. However, not only those players but those up and coaches such as Themba Dlamini, Tebello Kheswa, Tsimo Motsepe and Thulani “Japan” Mtimkulu were among the coaches who also graced our back pages. Sedibeng’s history is well documented with all the above-mentioned players and coaches being captured before they raise to fame. To Coach Japan, we must give credit where it is due, like TOUCHLINE did to those players before them and coaches. As a Safa Sedibeng Regional Technical Officer, TOUCHLINE is of the opinion that you have achieved because of those players who were profiled by Mooi Vaal Media newspaper from the young age. Players like Steve “Chippa” Lekoelea, Joseph “China” Masondo and Pitso Lekone were first captured by Mooi Vaal Media camera’s lenses while still playing in the Chappies Little League for the now defunct Sebokeng Two For Joy. TOUCHLINE challenge you Coach Japan to go back to Safa Vaal archives and check all those players who were futured in Mooi Vaal Media newspapers long before they graduated to professional football. TOUCHLINE challenges all the Sedibeng football administrators to go back to their achieves and reflect back before they criticize fellow colleagues in football. Whatever we smoke as egion is not good for our brain sense because it damages our memories hence, we are quick to rubbish other development coaches for the great job they have done in the development of football not only in Sedibeng but in the country. TOUCHLINE will always tell everyone who cares to listen, I was a great footballer of my generation, and I could have walked in any PSL team starting line up and Bafana-Bafana. Those with great memories will attest with me especially those from Evaton Central or those I played with and against like Emfuleni Local Football Association competition convener. Unfortunately, some of you, Coach Japan, were still young by then. TOUCHLINE pleads to you to give credit to those coaches whose players were promoted to the topflight football recently without a “but”. You’re senior to them, for the fact that you’re a Safa Sedibeng Regional Technical Officer. Your social media attack on those poor coaches has made lot of damage on their confidence. Whatever we smoke, eat and drink as a “region” should never cloud other coaches’ “success”, I hope you understand my senior.
