VUT FC Assistant Coach on the right track

Tshabalala described Moalosi as a hard working young coach who is eager to learn.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- In honor of Women’s Month coming to a close, Sedibeng Ster Sport spoke to VUT Ladies FC Assistant Coach, Portia Moalosi (pictured).

The 30-year-old Moalosi is one of the ambitious, up and coming female coaches who is eager to make a name for herself in South African football. Her affiliation with VUT Ladies FC began in 2021, and she now serves as an assistant coach to Coach Mvula “Sebapadi” Tshabalala, with the team participating in Safa Sasol Women’s League.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Moalosi said that her ambition is to see herself coaching in the top league and seeing VUT Ladies FC being promoted to the Safa National League in the near future.

She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that she is grateful to work under an experienced coach like Coach Tshabalala who has ‘been there and done it’ with both VUT ladies and men soccer teams.

“I really want to thank coach ‘Sebapadi’ because I have learnt a lot about coaching under his leadership. He allows me to grow as a coach, giving me responsibilities. As much as he is the head coach, he always asks me to be in charge of the team, especially at training. We have a good relationship and I’m learning a lot as far as coaching is concerned.

I want to thank him because he is so patient with me and demands the best from me,” said Moalosi. Tshabalala described Moalosi as a hard working young coach who is eager to learn.

“I have no doubt that Portia will make it in her coaching career because she is passionate about coaching. “What I like most about her is that she is willing to learn, and she asks if she doesn’t understand something. She makes my job easy because she understands these players better than me as a female coach. She is not just an assistant coach but her contribution in the team is there for everyone to see,” concluded Tshabalala
