SDM Mayor gets vaccinated

“Our experiences will never be the same after getting vaccinated."

SEDIBENG.- “At first, I felt a bit frightened because I did not know how it feels to vaccinate against COVID-19. But afterwards, I rested a little at the vaccination site; and did not experience any side-effects or dizziness. The vaccinators told me to observe myself for the next 3 days for any changes. They told me what to do if I notice any change”, said Lerato Maloka, Sedibeng District Executive (SDM) Mayor after getting her COVID-19 jab on Wednesday, 11 August 2021 in Devon, PK Abattoir.
On Tuesday the 10th August 2021, SDM together with Gauteng Provincial Government started a mobile vaccination in an effort to reach people in hard-to-find areas within the Sedibeng Region. This drive also ensures equitable access to covid-19 vaccination; where every person in those areas is encouraged to take the Covid-19 vaccination jab, irrespective of their age and gender.

Maloka continued that: “Our experiences will never be the same after getting vaccinated, some may experience mild or severe side effects after getting vaccinated; while others may not experience those side-effects. I encourage everyone to observe themselves for 3 days after getting the vaccine and encourage others to get the Covid-19 and flu vaccine. More so, getting vaccinated does not mean that I cannot contract COVID-19 or flu. Even after been vaccinated, all of us must continue to wear our masks, regularly wash hands and frequently hand sanitize”
