VEREENIGING. –A man was removed from a WhatsApp group in Three Rivers on Thursday evening (July 29, 2021) after he allegedly accidentally sent a photo of his genitals to the group
Everyone has heard of Margaret van Schweizer-Reneke, a hockey mom who made headlines nationwide in 2016 when she accidentally sent a nude photo of herself up to the local WhatsApp hockey group, now it seems like the same fate befell a man from Vereeniging.
The man’s identity is withheld to spare him further humiliation.
The “Daleen Venter Ward 1 D” WhatsApp group, named after the local councilor, has 254 members and was established so that residents of Three Rivers can bring problems in the neighborhood to the attention of the Venter.
The man posted the photo of his genitals at 19:07 and then apparently panicked and tried to remove the photo quickly.
However, he chose the wrong option and only removed the photo for himself, meaning that the genitals were still visible to the rest of the group.
After people approached him about the crude photo, he said: “Ok, stone me. I made a terrible mistake. Wrong contact. I’m going to feel ashamed forever. Sorry about that!”
The man was removed from the group shortly before 09h00.
The photo with the genitals was still up by Friday morning.
