SA Olympic team returns home with no point

This was a poor performance for the SA team after they produced a five star performance against France.

SEDIBENG. – The South Africa U/23 Men National Team returns home from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics games with no points after they lost all their games. The team suffered a 3-0 defeat against Mexico in their last game of their group on Wednesday. This was a poor performance for the SA team after they produced a five star performance against France even though they lost 4-3. It was a great displayed for the team and they were unlucky not to win or draw the game. However, against Mexico, they looked disjointed. South Africa lost 1-0 to Japan in their opening game of the tournament. There were high expectations for South Africa especially after their great performance against France, but it was not to be. The last time SA made their felt in the Olympics games in football was in 2000 when the U/23 Men team beat Brazil under the leadership of Shakes Mashaba and Kenny Ndlazi.
