Khanye comes with a positive influence

The EP is a refelection of the current social atmosphere of his township of Orange Farm.

ORANGE FARM.- Khanyile Mlenzana aka ‘Khanye the Guitarist’(pictured), a music teacher, writer as well as entertainer is currently working on a solo career where he aims to release his first Amapiano/House Music EP.
He will call the EP ‘The Influence’.
Mlenzana said that the EP is a refelection of the current social atmosphere of his township of Orange Farm.
Khanye was taught to strum his first cords by Vusi Nkadimeng who was his church band member and he later moved to Afro Jazz influenced by Kataki Thoka. He said that at the age of 15 he started going to Johannesburg with his friend and fellow guitarist Sifiso ‘Jazzman’ Mabizela where they would do cover songs for their favourite artists. The pair got attention and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the late Hugh Masekela, Salif Keita and Themba Mokoena, amongst others.
In 2013 he joined a local band called ‘Shef and the kitchen’ founded by Siphiwe Hlope. The group released their debut album called ‘the first recipe’ produced by Nigerian great, kunle Ayo and South African artist Kabomo.
‘Shef and the kitchen’ performed on top stages such as the Joy of Jazz, grahams Town National Arts Festival and Moshito Festival.
Mlenzana says that the audience will be thrilled with his solo offering which he aims to release at the end of this month
