Soul Food makes Mandela Day special for communities

Soul Food Regional Manager  in Sedibeng, Kenny Mabunda made special food deliveries over the weekend to communities of Vereeniging and Orange Farm in celebration of Mandela Day.

SEDIBENG. – Mabunda visited the Inyanda Pre-School and Feeding Scheme where his food delivery helped to feed the community with  warm food as well as fresh cabbages for each person who was there.

“I also went to the Orange Farm Children’s Home to deliver food, which included bread and Soul Seed kits for their vegetable garden.  Young, enthusiastic gardeners  showed me how their vegetable patch was coming along, with impressive cabbages growing for their homes.”

Orange Farm’s Zion Christian Church (ZCC) was also one of the beneficiaries.  The elderly residents and congregation members were gifted with maize meal and fresh vegetables as well as blankets.

In  Vereeniging, Mabunda heeded a call for help at a local food kitchen in the area after receiving a call from a resident asking for assistance for a lady who prepares and serves warm meals and soup for residents.

Soul Food is a registered Non-Profit Organization and is part of The Soul Provider Trust. Soul Food collects surplus food, together with donations from farms and food manufacturers and distributes these donations along with their SOUL SEED boxes (a vegetable seed kit), which enable recipients to grow their own food.

Soul Food regions are reliant on their community businesses and are thankful for businesses and farmers who readily donate surplus food and stock, which is then distributed to the communities.
