Bafana-Bafana crowned COSAFA Cup Champions

This new look Bafana-Bafana team didn’t just win matches but also played some exciting football.

SEDIBENG.- Bafana-Bafana were crowned the COSAFA Cup Champions after they beat Senegal 5-4 on penalties on Sunday. The game went to extra time after a goalless draw and was decided on penalties with South Africa converting all their penalties. It was a well-deserved victory for Bafana-Bafana for being outstanding for the whole tournament. It was 100% performance winning 99% percent games in their group stages before playing a goalless draw against Zambia in their last match of Group A.

Bafana-Bafana striker, Victor Letsoalo has capped a record-breaking 2020 COSAFA Cup campaign by winning the Golden Boot Award, as well as the R20 000 cash prize that comes with it. He was one of the new Bafana-Bafana faces that impressed for the better part of the tournament and his hard work was rewarded at the end of the tournament over the weekend. Letsoalo was the first player to score a hattrick for Bafana-Bafana at the COSAFA Cup and the only second player overall after Benni McCarthy  with the most goals in a single edition of the competition.
