SEDIBENG.- The ‘African Club of the Century’, Al Ahly came out victorious 3-0 against South African side, Kaizer Chiefs in the final of the CAF Champions League in Morocco yesterday night. Ahly beat the 10-man Chiefs after Happy Mashiane was sent off for dangerous foul play just before half-time which left the Soweto giants wide-open in the second half.
Mohamed Sherif, Magdy Afsha and Amr El Solia netted the goals to secure the clubs’ tenth star. Chiefs were against the side that is now coached by former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, who collected his third Champions League gold medal. “We really needed this trophy, the team from my country also wanted their first star but we wanted it more than them, the tenth one was important,” Mosimane said.
