Police urged to undertake operation with caution

Molefe was addressing a pre-operation parade on the rooftop of Markpark Shopping Center in Vereeniging recently.

 VEREENIGING. – The Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General Zodwa Molefe recently urged members of the Sedibeng District SAPS including other law enforcement agencies to be cautious and insure that they keep safe.Molefe was addressing a pre-operation parade on the rooftop of Markpark Shopping Center in Vereeniging recently.

“Vereeniging is the epicentre of Covid-19. Please take care of yourselves first and ensure that all the Lockdown Level 4 regulations are adhered to at all times.”

Members were then divided into four groups for roadblock, second hand goods, drugs and mop up respectively.

Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “During the operation, police managed to search 1064 people, 253 vehicles, 15 premises, 13 tuck shops, 11 scrap metal dealers, 09 businesses, two shopping centres and a taxi rank.

“Police also seized drugs, illicit cigarettes and liquor during the operation. A suspect was arrested at  the Vereeniging taxi rank with three refuse bags containing dagga worth a street value of R4000.”
