Di Lisa is still all over the game at 65

"I still want to contribute in the development of football because I have all time in the world."

SEDIBENG.- Coach Vincenzo Di Lisa (65) is one of the few coaches who is very passionate about the development of football in this region. Despite his age, he is all over the Sedibeng at the weekends watching Safa games from development level, Super League, SAB League, Women Regional League, school football and ABC Motsepe League. Coach Vincent as he is affectionately called in local football, has spent his life in football both as player and a coach. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, while watching Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League matches, Di Lisa said there is still so much he can contribute to the development of football in Sedibeng. He believes there is so much that needs to be done especially for junior soccer league in this region. He reflected during the time of Safa Vaal when football was a top priority with junior soccer league played every weekend all over Vaal. “In the past Vaal used have a competitive junior league in all the areas, Sharpeville, Sebokeng, Evaton, Rustervaal. For all these years we managed to produce great, administrators, coaches, referees and players. There is a serious need to revive junior soccer leagues in this region and I have been attending all Safa games every weekend. I’m always at the ground watching games including women’s regional league. I don’t get paid to do this because I’m passionate about this beautiful game. I spent the rest of my life in football both as a player and a coach. I still want to contribute in the development of football because I have all time in the world especially when it comes to football,” he said.
