Tragedy motivates young woman to do more for humanity

“The foundation aims to make children happy because we believe that making someone happy can change the world."

LAKESIDE.- The tragic loss of her left leg, through a rare type of bone Cancer earlier this year has made 21-year-old Relebohile Msiza appreciate life even more.
The young woman, together with her friend, Rethabile Mafaesa (19) from Lakeside in Sebokeng has opened a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) called the Lethabo Foundation.
The foundation mainly deals with orphans and those who are from disadvantaged families.
The foundation members donated clothes, shoes, and sanitary towels to such children in Savannah City, Midvaal on Youth Day, June 16. The children were also provided with food in the form of soup and bread on the day.
“The foundation aims to make children happy because we believe that making someone happy can change the world, maybe not the whole world, but ‘their world’. What motivated us to start this foundation is that we believe that we have the power to make a difference in a child’s life as we were aware that being unloved, uncared for, unwanted and forgotten especially by your own parents can be the greatest form of hunger.”
Msiza said that their mission is to bring a smile and hope to each and every young face.
“We believe that together we can bring a change in communities.” Msiza’s personal wish is for a Good Samaritan to sponsor her with an artificial leg so that she can perform her duties, much lighter, and to the best of her ability.
For further information or donations to the foundation contact Msiza on 081 763 1489.
