City of Love celebrates graduates

SASOLBURG. - The City of Love Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Reverend Thabiso Mashiloane recently celebrated graduates from both the church and the community at large.

The objective of the event was to give recognition to those who are committed to gaining academic excellence, as well as to encourage and inspire young members of the church to also do the same.
Mashiloane says this was more of a community event as graduates from the community were also celebrated.
Mashiloane says: “As part of the celebration, we also invited people from various professions in order to help our youth with career guidance and subject choices.”
During his sermon Mashiloane spoke about the importance of knowing God. “Just as it is important to be well educated, people should also try to maintain a balance by also putting an effort in gaining knowledge about God.”
MEC for Education in the Free State Tate Makgoe, during his keynote address, encouraged Sunday Schools to teach maths so that kids can start to realise that it is not as difficult as they think.
“Education is very important. Even becoming a politician requires one to be educated.”
Makgoe encouraged young people to also seek business opportunities. He encouraged matric learners to work hard in order for the province to uphold its high rank when coming to good matric results.
He also thanked the church for their contribution to the community. All graduates were gifted, and the event ended with a luncheon. All COVID-19 protocols were upheld during the event.
Ward Councillor Thabiso Mabasa, who was also in attendance, applauded the church for their work in the Health an Education Sectors with the different programmes they are running.
