Mystery surrounds 21-year-old’s murder

The family of Kamohelo Thebe (21), who was stabbed and killed last week near Tshepiso Clinic, is struggling to come to terms with his death.

SHARPEVILLE. – The family of Kamohelo Thebe (21), who was stabbed and killed last week near Tshepiso Clinic, is struggling to come to terms with his death.

Kamohelo is said to have been walking to his grandmother’s house in Tshepiso Phase 1 when he was allegedly approached by two unknown men.

It is said that the two had a short conversation with the deceased after which one of the men took out a knife and stabbed him once on the chest. The two then fled the scene.

A neighbour who witnessed the incident rushed to Kamohelo’s grandmother’s house an alerted the family about what had happened.

Dieketseng Thebe (39), an aunt to Kamohelo said that they rushed to the scene immediately after they were alerted.

“On our arrival, Kamohelo was covered in blood and he had sadly passed on. We are deeply saddened by this because he was a good child, he respected us and we never had problems with him. As a family we expected a lot from him. He had just passed his driver’s licence test and hoped that he would get a job.

“Kamohelo loved expensive clothes and his mother would always give him money to buy the things he loved. We have been robbed of someone who used to make us laugh and play around. We really need to see justice served because we don’t even know why they did what they did.”

Kamohelo’s grandmother, Merriam Thebe said she would like to see the perpetrators of this crime spend their lives in jail.

Police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango said, “Police have opened a murder case docket and a suspect in the case was subsequently arrested.”

The suspect has since made an appearance in court.
