Boitshepiville junior league in revival mode

SHARPEVILLE.- There is an effort to revive Boitshepiville junior league after years of junior teams have being neglected. Tebello Kheswa has been tasked by the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) to head the Boitshepiville Stream in an attempt to revive junior leagues in this stream.

For the past two weeks the Boitshepiville junior teams were involved in festival games at George Thabe Stadium outside fields. The revival of Boitshepiville junior leagues follows after the teams joined NWU Vaal Development League because the teams claimed they were neglected for the past ten years. The teams felt that were treated as if they were not part of the ELFA hence they approached NWU Vaal with the idea to establish a junior league to keep youngsters busy and playing in the better conditions.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Kheswa said the intention is to make Boitshepiville a strong stream when it comes to junior league like it was the case in the past when the stream was known as Sharpeville Football Association. This was during the era of Paul “Chain” More, Ntate Ramakatsa and  a host of others who were the brains behind the success of the Sharpeville Football Association.

“We as Boitshepiville junior soccer teams  had a meeting with the Emfuleni Local Football Association Chairman, Jabu Mqcina and we presented our plan on how we will revive this stream. We have already started playing festival games and we intend to engage the municipality to fix the George Thabe Stadium outside fields. There is a need for those fields to be maintained so that these youngsters can play in  proper conditions for the sake of their development,” he said.
