SASOLBURG. – A young mother from Sasolburg was shopping at a shopping center in Sasolburg on Friday evening, 30 April.
Her 3-year-old son was with her. She noticed that three women seemed to be watching her. At the checkout, the same women stood behind her.
There was also a man in a dark jacket that was in the area the whole time. The mother, who asked to remain anonymous, kept an eye on her son, but when she looked away for a moment, one of the women picked up the boy and walked away with him.
“I looked at her in surprise. At first I thought she was going crazy, but when she kept walking to death, I ran after her and took the child with her, “she said in a telephone interview with Sedibeng Ster.
She asked the woman what she was doing and she replied: “I’m leaving with your child”. After security was called, the woman said it was just a “joke”.
The mom says she was badly shocked and paid for her shopping and went home. The reality of everything only hit her later and on Monday morning she went to make a case to the police.
She heard on Tuesday, May 4, that the woman had been arrested and is currently in custody.
The security camera’s video of the incident was shared by the mom’s mother on social media.
