According to ER24, paramedics were on the scene at 13:29 along with Emfuleni Fire Department who were already busy with extracting the severely entrapped driver from the crushed cab which had broken off from the double trailer.
“The patient was found to have suffered critical injuries and required Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise him.
He was then flown by Emergency Medical Helicopter to a private hospital in the area.”
The South African Police Services were also on the scene for investigations.
