The Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA has announced the decision to cancel their fundraiser golf day scheduled for Friday, April 23 at the Heron Banks Golf Course.

The cancelation comes following a shortage of participants for this fundraiser to proceed. In a post on Facebook SPCA said this is devastating news for the organization and for the animals.
“We hoped to raise much needed funds with this event. Unfortunately, we could not find enough participants for this fundraiser to proceed. Due to Covid many of our usual supporters were not able to support us as they too are in financial difficulty.”
“This means that we will need to cut back on the services we offer, unless we are able to generate the funds in another way.”
“We have been hit really hard by Covid-19. Many of our supporters no longer have the funds to donate or donate as regularly as they used to. We also had to cancel most of our fundraising events due to the Covid-19 Regulations.”
“We are trying to keep head above water and the struggle continues.”
