New CPF members elected in Meyerton

In his address, Lepitla stated that the community is the eyes and ears of the police.

MIDVAAL. – In a plight to keep a good relationship between the community of Meyerton and the SAPS, a new Community Police Forum (CPF) was elected recently during an Annual General Meeting (AGM). The proceeding took place at the Meyerton Hall.

The meeting was attended by members of the community, Sedibeng District office personnel and CPF executive and Meyerton Station Commander Colonel Victor Lepitla.

Police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi says, “The community elected the team of dedicated residents as the new CPF of Meyerton policing area and the chairperson is Rudolph De Wet.

“Community policing is a policy and strategy aimed at achieving more effective crime control, reducing a fear of crime and improving police services within our communities.” Moloi adds that it allows the police and community to work  together to solve problems of crime.

In his address, Lepitla stated that the community is the eyes and ears of the police. “I would like to urge the community to work together with the police in fighting crime in Meyerton.” Lepitla said that that this good relationship  can be led by the CPF and encouraged members of the community to join the CPF.
