Joint oversight at Meyerton clinic

Midvaal Local Municipality’s MMC for Community Services Peter Teixeira together with MMC for Corporate Services Mokete Motsamai recently conducted a joint oversight visit to the Meyerton Clinic.

The objective of the oversight was to inspect facilities and thank healthcare workers on behalf of the community of Midvaal.

Teixeira says upon arrival, he was very impressed by the staff morale and could tell that residents are being assisted with passion and care. Teixeira says this proved that the healthcare workers are very dedicated to their work.

“The oversight was to also ensure that our frontline workers are working in a conducive environment and if there was any assistance I could offer in terms of resources to ensure they are optimally equipped to serve our residents.

“I want to humbly thank all our health frontline workers for their tireless efforts in assisting our people especially during this difficult time of Covid 19. Their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed from the entire municipality management.”

Teixeira said they plan to visit more clinics throughout Midvaal to also check on the working conditions of frontline workers and on the state of readiness for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.

“I will also be meeting some of my colleagues at provincial government to ensure that our ambulance services are also up to par to serve our residents”

Talking about his new portfolio, Teixeira said the transition for him was good as it gives him the opportunity to learn and to prove to Midvaal residents that he can serve them in any position.
