Two injured in a collision in Vaalview

Medics assessed the patients and found that one woman had sustained serious injuries while the second woman had sustained moderate injuries.

VAALVIEW.- Two people were injured, one seriously, following a collision between two light motor vehicles on the Reval Road in Vaalview on Saturday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 15h02 and found the one vehicle on the side of the road.

The second vehicle had already been moved away.

Medics assessed the patients and found that one woman had sustained serious injuries while the second woman had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were treated and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

In a separate accident a man was left seriously injured on Saturday afternoon when his light motor vehicle crashed into a truck on Blackwood Street in Risiville, Vereeniging.

ER24 paramedics and Midvaal Fire Services arrived on the scene at 15h45 to find the light motor vehicle on the side of the road.

The truck had burst into flame after it crashed into a residence. Medics assessed the patients and found that the male driver of the car was in a serious condition while the truck driver had escaped injury.

The patient was treated and provided pain-relief medication while the Midvaal Fire Services extinguished the burning truck.

After treatment, the patient was transported to Sebokeng Provincial Hospital for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
