Midvaal MMCs changed to new portfolios

MIDVAAL. - Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) Mayor Bongani Baloyi recently reshuffled four out of five of his Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs) into new positions.

According to MLM, the change was implemented to further improve service delivery in the MLM.
MMC Mokete Motsamai who was MMC for Development and Planning is now our MMC for Corporate Services, MMC Lynda Parsonson who was MMC for Corporate Services is now MMC for Development and Planning, MMC Peter Teixeira who was MMC for Engineering Services is now MMC for Community Services, while MMC Hennie Oosthuysen who was MMC for Community Services is now MMC for Engineering Services.

The only MMC who has remained in her portfolio is MMC Patricia Hutcheson, who is still MMC for Financial Services.

Some of the MMCs did not waste time assuming their positions to making sure that there is better service delivery in Midvaal.

MMC Teixeira in his new portfolio as MMC for Community Services took part in a Pre-winter Fire Awareness Campaign in conjunction with other municipalities and the provincial government, while MMC Oosthuysen for Engineering Services was spotted on site in Homestead Apple Orchards checking on the progress of pothole repairs taking place in the area.
 
Motsamai says, “I am quite excited, ready to take on a new challenge. I believe this is also an opportunity for me to showcase my versatility and at the same time gain experience in a new department. For now, with a few months to go before elections, I will ensure I carry on from where the previous MMC for the Department left off and complete what she started.”
 
Motsamai said he was happy because the department which was previously led by MMC Parsonson is stable and has been performing very well for the last few years. “My focus will be on oversight and making sure we create an environment that is positive for both our staff and communities”.
