Community gets their hands dirty

This has nothing to do with political parties.

SEBOKENG.- The community of Ward 41 in Sebokeng recently undertook an initiative to conduct an environmental cleaning campaign in their area.
Lebohang Mofokeng, who is the Project Coordinator said that as part of their awareness, they could not wait for the local government to clean all the dumping sites in Lakeside Proper, Zone 3 and Evaton.
“We started to clean the area in the beginning of February, aiming for a duration of up to six months. We contributed amongst ourselves and hired TLBs as the garbage was too much to handle with the shovels and wheelbarrows and we appeal to the community members in Ward 41 to join hands and stop dumping everywhere they see an open space. This has nothing to do with political parties.
“We are here wishing to do good for our community. We will appreciate any mechanism that support the idea,” she said.
