ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 08h45 on Wednesday morning to find the taxi and SUV on the side of the road.
The taxi driver was found trapped inside his vehicle while three people from the SUV were walking around the scene.
Medics assessed the patients and found that the taxi driver was critical, while the three others were found with moderate injuries.
Rescue medics freed the driver from the vehicle using specialised equipment. Once released, medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions.
After treatment, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
